Question:
Can I use both Herbal Calmer and Seagreens Powder at the same time for my 7-1/2 year old miniature Australian Shepherd?
Nutritionist Answer:
Thank you for your e-mail. You can certainly use both of them at the same time. There will be no adverse effects.
Question:
Can seagreens be fed daily long term?
Nutritionist Answer:
Thank you for your e-mail. Yes, the Seagreens can be used daily from puppy/kitten all the way up to senior.
Question:
Our dog, Maggie, a lab/basset mix, has skin allergies. What
would be the best food/formula for her?
Nutritionist Answer:
Thank you for your e-mail. I would have to suggest the Lamb & Rice
formula. The product is designed to be hypo-allergenic and would be
great for her skin.
Question:
I have a 7 month old rotti who is growing quite fast and seems to
feel the effects of long walks or hard dog playing would you recomened
glucosamine and do i have to worry about any side effects?
Nutritionist Answer:
If he/she seems to experience pain or discomfort after being mobile for a long period of time, I would definitely recommend supplementing with Glucosamine. It will certainly help to relieve the pain and can actually help to heal the problem area. There are no side effects to worry about, just make sure to follow the guidelines. Monitor the dog's reaction to it, and you should be able to see an improvement within a couple weeks.
Question:
What are the differences between each cat formula that you sell?
What should influence my choice? I have two 11 year old cats that are
perfectly healthy, ideal body weight, that don't go outside. They are not
very fussy when it comes to food but sometimes have digestive problems. They
are presently eating Techni-cal food and I would love to switch to a more
pet friendly company like yours.
Nutritionist Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. I'll give you a basic overview of our three
cat formulas. Ultimately it comes down to personal preference.
• Chicken & Salmon
This formula is hypo-allergenic, made with free range chicken and wild
salmon. It contains only whole grains, which are an excellent source
energy for your cat. We use only the highest quality ingredients in the
food. As with all of our formulas, there are no by-products or chemical
preservatives. It also contains no wheat/corn which are basically
useless fillers.
• Grain Free Chicken, Whitefish and Turkey
This formula is 100% grain free. Grain free vs. a formula with whole
grains really boils down to your choice as the owner. Many people are
opting for Grain Free due to the fact that cats and dogs both are mainly
carnivores. Grain Free formulas don't use any grains as a means of
protein, therefore the meat inclusion is higher. It is a great formula,
again all of the meat is free-range, no fillers and no chemicals.
• The Healthy Cat - Chicken & Ocean Fish
This formula includes only whole grains as well. It is made with
Free-Range chicken and herring. This formula is our newest formula. It
is made with high quality ingredients as with our other foods, and
features no by products, fillers, or chemical preservatives. You will
however find that the meat inclusion in this formula is lower. This is
what allows this formula to be sold at a lower price than the other
formulas, and I can assure it's still a very healthy, very high quality
product.
All three of the formulas will support a healthy coat and skin, and
boast high digestibility. They are all slow cooked at a low temperature
which allows them to keep many of the nutrients that are destroyed at
high temperatures. You will find that many commercial pet foods are
cooked at a high temperature, and therefore many of the nutrients are lost.
Question:
Our bichon maltais is 6 years old and was recently diagnosed with
diabetes wich formula do you recomend,he has been on medi- cal dental for
the past 3 years.
Nutritionist Answer:
Thank you for your interest and comments. We recommend the lamb & rice
formula, as it is the lowest in protein, and cleanest as far as minimal
ingredients. Being a hypo allergenic formula will help.
